HOW IT WORKS
The insect mesh sits inside the aluminium cassette, kept taut by a tensioned spring. Pull the handlebar down over the open window and clip it into the side guides — the integral brush pile seals against the frame as it travels, so nothing gets through.
Release the clips and the spring draws the mesh back into the cassette, out of sight. No seasonal removal and no storage — roll it away in winter and pull it down again come summer.
END CAPS
Our sleek, contoured end caps snap neatly onto the cassette, completing the look with a smooth, seamless finish. Recess fitting couldn’t be easier thanks to the unique built-in expansion springs — with up to 10mm of built-in tolerance, there’s no need to stress over exact measurements. Simply fit and let the springs expand to fill the opening for a secure, professional result.
VELUX FLY SCREEN RECESS INSTALL
If your Velux window is top-hinged and opens outwards, you can take advantage of a clean reveal installation, with the roller fly screen fitting neatly into the space between the plaster walls. Please note this option is suitable for straight walls only — angled walls are not compatible with this fitting method.
VELUX FLY SCREEN FOR CENTRE PIVOT WINDOWS
Where a centre pivot window extends beyond the reveal upon opening, an internal wall installation is the recommended solution. By fitting the fly screen inside the room, you ensure completely unobstructed window operation while maintaining full insect protection — a practical, hassle-free alternative that delivers the same great results.

CHOICES
You can choose to have handles, pull cords, or no pull-down bar components at all, and just use the decorative channel for operation.
BRAKE
An optional internal brake that slows down the spring return of the mesh. This is especially useful where children may be using the screens or if the height of the mesh is greater than 1000mm as it will prevent the mesh from snapping back into the cassette and causing possible damage to the mesh seam if it is accidentally released.
HANDLES
The roller fly screen can be assembled with handles to draw the mesh out of the cassette, or if you want a more streamlined look the groove where the handles slide can be used to operate the screen.
PULL CORD
Personalise your fly screen to suit your needs. A pull cord can be included for smooth, convenient operation at your fingertips — or left out altogether for a sleeker, uncluttered finish. The choice is entirely yours.
INTEGRAL BRUSH PILE
The roller fly screens side guides have an integral brush pile which ensures a complete seal with the insect mesh so no insects can pass through.
STANDARD SIDE GUIDE PILE
Our standard side guide comes with an integral brush pile to create the seal with the fly mesh.
WIND PILE
If you live in a windy area then consider having our interlocking wind pile installed, the filaments lock into the fly mesh to help hold it in position in windy conditions.
BASE BAR
Specifically designed for windows without a sill, the base bar ensures no window is left without a solution. Screwed securely to the window frame, it creates a firm, stable base for the roller fly screen to sit within — guaranteeing a complete, effective seal every time, no matter your window configuration.
BASE CATCH
Our standard base catch comes in white to match the cassette and sits on the external face of the side guide. The catch is adjusted by turning the brass screw, just in case your window sills aren’t flat, this catch is recommended for use with the midge mesh or where you are using the base bar.
INTERNAL CATCH
There is the alternative internal catch which fits neatly into the side guide but isn’t adjustable.

EASY VIEW MOSQUITO MESH
Our roller fly screens now have the new ‘EASY VIEW’ mosquito mesh which has 18/16 strands that will keep out most types of flies, mosquitoes, wasps, bees, spiders, etc and it is available in the grey decor colour. Our ‘EASY VIEW’ mesh allows excellent visibility with good airflow which will help to keep your rooms cool.
MIDGE MESH
The midge mesh has a finer weave and it will help to keep out most small midges, as well as the larger flies. This mesh has been specifically designed for use in our roller fly screen system to maximise airflow but help to keep out the smaller midge-type flies, even the Scottish midge!
TOUGHENED MESH
Our toughened mesh has an additional coating that will help to protect against the occasional pet claw swipes.
The fly screens are not designed to keep pets indoors and as pets are individuals we cannot guarantee that a pet could not get through the mesh so we would recommend using additional measures to keep pets indoors and to let them get accustomed to the mesh screen.
POLLEN MESH
Pollen mesh keeps out flies and also pollen and other allergens. Our pollen mesh is Certified by the European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation (ECARF) and helps prevent the access of airborne particles and is invaluable for hay fever sufferers. This product comes with our guarantee of effectiveness as a hay fever sufferer I can now sleep with my windows open!
SUNOX MESH
All our roller fly screen ranges now come with Sunox fly mesh as standard which is naturally antibacterial. Sunox mesh filters the air, preventing the formation of germs and bacteria and reducing the presence of polluting particles in the air.

Frequently Asked Questions
How do our retractable roller fly screens work?
The insect mesh is housed inside the aluminium cassette out of view and is kept taut by a tensioned spring, also out of view inside the cassette. The end of the mesh is held by a handlebar which enables you to draw the mesh out of the cassette and down over the open window. From the head of the cassette down to the window sill are two side guides with an integral brush pile, which allow the mesh to travel along and also create a seal to help prevent any flies from entering your room.
Once the mesh has been pulled down to cover the window, the handlebar is held in place by clips fixed into the side guides, which prevent the mesh from retracting until you’re ready to close the screen. When you release the handlebar from the clips, the retraction spring takes the mesh back into the cassette.
Our pull-down roller fly screens for windows are easy to install and form a fully sealed unit to the window frame or reveal – helping to keep out all flying insects, and spiders!

Will it fit a window without a sill?
Yes – an optional base bar screws to the window frame to create a stable, sealed base for windows that don’t have a sill.
Is there a way to stop the mesh snapping back into the cassette?
Yes, an optional brake slows the spring return. It’s particularly worth adding if children will be using the screen, or if the mesh height is over 1000mm, to prevent the mesh snapping back and damaging the seam.
