Sash windows and any opening taller than it is wide call for a different approach to sliding screens — which is exactly what our vertical sliding fly screens are built for. Rather than running side to side, the panels slide up and down within a slim 20mm x 28mm frame, held in place at any height by spring-loaded pads.

How it works

The frame fits into the window reveal rather than sitting proud of it, keeping your sill clear and cutting down on the dust and debris that collects in cheaper surface-mounted runners. The spring-loaded pads hold each panel firmly wherever you leave it — no drift, no rattling in the wind — while a full outer frame maintains a continuous seal against flying insects and airborne allergens around the sliding panel.

Everything arrives pre-cut to your exact dimensions and ready to assemble, so there’s no cutting involved — just unpack the kit and slot it together. If you’d rather not assemble it yourself, we also offer a complete build and installation service; just email us your requirements for a quote. Fully approved by the Food Standards Agency and finished in a scratch-resistant white polyester coating, it suits both home and commercial kitchens equally well.

Choosing your mesh

Standard mosquito mesh keeps out flies, wasps and mosquitoes while staying easy to see through and letting air move freely. If midges are the problem, our finer midge mesh handles them too. Pet mesh uses a tougher weave for households with claws to contend with, and our pollen mesh — ECARF-certified and knitted to an 80-micron, 0.8 aperture weave — filters out airborne pollen, which we can vouch for personally as a household that includes a hay fever sufferer. As standard, every sliding screen we supply now comes with Sunox mesh, which is naturally antibacterial and helps filter airborne particles as well as insects.

MESH OPTIONS

We offer a choice of meshes suitable for all applications;
Easy-view mosquito mesh which will keep out all flying insects, mosquitoes, and spiders, apart from midges. The mesh allows excellent visibility and good airflow to keep your room cool.
Midge mesh keeps out all the large flies and the smaller midges and corn flies.
Pet Mesh which will keep out all flying insects and spiders, apart from midges, the pet mesh has a stronger weave to help protect against occasional pet claw swipes.

POLLEN MESH

Pollen mesh keeps out flies and also pollen and other allergens. Our pollen mesh is Certified by the European Centre for Allergy Research Foundation (ECARF) and prevents the access of airborne particles and is invaluable for hay fever sufferers. This product comes with our personal guarantee of effectiveness as a hay fever sufferer I can now sleep with my windows open! The mesh is a knitted polyester weave of 80 microns with a 0.8 aperture and is available in a grey colour
Sunox Mesh

SUNOX MESH

Our sliding fly screen ranges now come with Sunox mesh as standard which is naturally antibacterial. Sunox mesh filters the air, preventing the formation of germs and bacteria and reducing the presence of polluting particles in the air.
