Heavy Duty Strip Mesh Fly Screens for Doors

Where a hinged door would slow down constant foot traffic, a strip mesh screen lets people walk straight through — kitchen staff, trolleys, deliveries — while keeping flies, wasps, mosquitoes, midges and moths on the outside. Built for single or double commercial doorways, it’s a genuine year-round barrier rather than a seasonal fix, and it meets Food Safety Regulations for kitchens and food storage areas into the bargain.

Each strip is 200mm wide with a soft sewn edge — so nobody catches themselves walking through — and a weight sewn into the base that lets the strip swing back into place the instant someone’s passed through, even in a breezy doorway. The panels overlap each other to keep the barrier continuous, and we offer either a 30% overlap for standard use or a 50% overlap for particularly exposed or windy locations.

Built for the harshest environments

The mesh itself is Suntex — a heavyweight industrial polyester built to withstand relentless daily use — while the header rail and fittings are 403-grade stainless steel, tough enough to have been chosen by P&O Ferries for use in salty sea air. If it holds up on a ferry deck, it will hold up on a kitchen doorway.

Fitting and upkeep

Installation is a genuinely quick job: screw the header rail to your door frame, then hook the strips onto it — no specialist tools required, and the whole door is ready in minutes. Because each strip simply lifts off the rail, cleaning is just as straightforward: unhook them for a wash down, or run them through an industrial dishwasher if your kitchen has one, then hook them straight back on.

Made to your exact door height, this is about as low-maintenance as an insect barrier gets — and beyond keeping the flies out, the mesh also holds back leaves and general debris without cutting down daylight or airflow through the doorway.
