PVC strip curtains are the unsung workhorse of warehouse and workshop doorways — not glamorous, but genuinely effective at keeping flies out while letting forklifts, trolleys and staff move through without breaking stride. We manufacture ours here in the UK for pedestrian doors, warehouse entrances and internal partitioning between work areas.
Beyond insect control, the strips do double duty holding a room’s temperature steady — handy for a chilled store in summer or a heated workshop in winter — while cutting down draughts and noise transfer between spaces. They’re built from thick, tough PVC that shrugs off daily knocks and wipes clean in seconds, with strip sizes running from 200 x 2mm for standard doorways up to 300 x 3mm for wider industrial entrances.
Clear or ribbed?
Both finishes do the same job of stopping insects while holding in temperature; the choice mostly comes down to what’s coming through the doorway. Go ribbed anywhere forklifts or pallet trucks are working the door — the raised ribs take the impact and shrug off scrapes that would eventually wear through a flat strip. Clear strips are the usual pick for pedestrian doors, general warehouse openings and partitioning inside a production area, where good visibility through the curtain matters more than impact resistance.
Fitting options
Most installations hook straight onto a stainless steel header rail, which makes the strips quick to lift off for cleaning or replacement — this is the setup we’d recommend for the majority of doorways. Bolt-on rails are available where a fixed mount suits the site better, and for wider or double-door openings we can supply a sliding track so the whole curtain runs clear of the opening.
